Having Ms. Elena Le as a teacher and mentor for our son has been a blessing. She has guided him while at the same time allowed him to feel in control of his own development. She uses compassion and kindness to reach my son and gently gives him encouragement to push beyond his comfort level and ability to improve each and every lesson. It has been terrific watching him play notes that turn into songs. I highly recommend Ms. Elena Le and am even thinking about taking up the piano myself.

Ms. Elena is a wonderful piano teacher. She has a wonderful balance of passion, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and creativity. She finds different ways to encourage and reward good behavior and habits. I’m thrilled that we found Ms. Elena for our son Jaden. She has been awesome!

Elena Le is outstanding and so fun to work with! When I was a kid, piano lessons felt like a chore, but right from the start Elena made lessons something my kid actually looked forward to every week. She creates a personal connection with her students and finds what motivates them, so that they WANT to learn.

My son has been working with her for nearly 4 years and we’ve seen huge progress in his musical skill. Together they work on technique, theory, and everything in between. We started with really basic music that you’d expect from a 4th grader and now as a 7th grader he’s playing long complicated pieces of current music. As a student, he gets to choose music that is meaningful to him, which makes practice fun and engaging.

Elena also comes to your house for lessons, so you get to learn on your own piano in the comfort of your home. She teaches both youth and adult lessons.

Our whole family highly recommends Elena!

–Anne, Piano Mom

Elena has been teaching my two sons to play the piano for over 4 years.  In this time, it has been such an amazing and rewarding period for our family.

For much of their lives, my boys have participated in so many extracurricular activities, yet only experienced generally moderate satisfaction from any of them. With all that they have tried, we have finally found that it is piano playing that has been the most enjoyable. I know this is all due to Elena and her instruction. She has done more than simply teach my sons piano basics. Elena has been engaging, attentive, and most especially – caring. It is clear that she is so devoted to her natural passion to teach. My sons have responded accordingly in such positive ways.

On behalf of my entire family, I have always wanted to have lovely music resonate in our household. Thanks to Elena, I can now say that this happens – and it is magical! Not only has she taught my sons the lovely songs that we have adored in our lives, but she has also somehow instilled in both of them an eagerness to engage in impromptu practice sessions. This is such an important part of the discipline. The fact that the boys do so with such regularity and without my even having to ask is testimony to just how enjoyable Elena has made piano playing for them. I see in them a clear ongoing desire to improve and deliver, an it is heartwarming.

I can only conclude by sharing that I do not just feel my family is only receiving quality lessons. Thanks to Elena, we are also receiving a gift.

2016 Recital | KDW Photos

12 months ago, I had been warned. For kids, learning piano is like flying a rocket to the moon. For parents, to get the kid to practice piano regularly is like flying a rocket to Mars. However, this hasn’t been a problem for me.

My daughter, Isabella, is now 7 years old and has been learning piano with Elena for 12 months. One day, I asked her if she likes playing piano and why. Here is her answer: “I like piano because… FUN…Pokemon…Elena”.

In the last 12 months, she learned how to play music on the piano, learned how to read music, and most importantly, learned how to enjoy music. From a simple piece of music to a piece of music with different tempo, from a piece in key of C to a piece with different key signatures or different accidentals, from following a music sheet to adding dynamic to music, under Elena’s guidance, I can see great improvement in Isabella.

Instead of just lecturing, Elena introduces various ways to keep learning piano fun. For example, she uses Pokemon to help Isabella learn and memorize the boring accidentals and notes in music. In addition to that, there are yearly Piano Picnics. Isabella gets the chance to meet other kids and have fun with the games that are related to music.

Last, but not least, the Yearly Piano Recital is also one of Elena’s specialties! Food is good. Drinks are good. 😛 Outstanding solo and duet performances. During the recital, what made it so special was Elena introduced to the audience the background and piano journey of every student, so they are not just another kid playing piano on stage. For example, I still remember vividly Nolan overcoming his fear and finishing his performance on stage. The piano and vocal duet by Jared as well as Eliot’s Concerning Hobbits still plays in my head from time to time.

Every week, Isabella still impresses me with her performance, surprises me with her improvement, and influences me with her passion.

Thank you, Elena, for making learning piano FUN, making learning music like Pokemon and making my daughter’s experience of learning piano like a vacation to Hawaii.

Great teachers begin with great people, and Elena Le is the best of both.

Besides being a talented, classically trained pianist, she is also a wonderful, caring human being.  She is able to apply her knowledge and adapt her teaching to best fit her students.  She is truly a gem!

My homeschooling son has taken piano lessons for almost 4 years with Elena.

From her first visit, Elena took the time to get to know my son, not only what kind of music interested him, but also what other things he loved to do.  When he had an idea for tracking his progress, she built that into each lesson.  If he got stuck, she came up with creative suggestions to help motivate and move his progress forward, while still keeping the lessons fun.

Along with building a relationship of trust and support, she always made the joy of music a central piece of the journey. My son learned to read music, understand theory and experiment with his own natural improvisational style, while also expanding his communication and interpersonal skills.

If you are looking for a wonderful private piano teacher who can come to your home, I highly recommend Elena.

Hi Elena,

I wanted to send you a hand written note but realized I don’t have a mailing address for you. I want to congratulate you on the recital you put on today and to thank you also. You did a wonderful job and particularly the way you handled the little boy with stage fright- it was wonderful and he performed so well!  I know it was a big task but you handled it beautifully and we all commented how great it was so THANK YOU!

My son had been on a break from piano after about 3 years of lessons. He got bored with the lessons with the previous instructor.

We interviewed Elena and fell in love right away. My son was tentative about starting up again, but after we met with her, he liked her, too.

Elena is very energetic, fun, connects with kids at their level, enthusiastic, on top of the latest technologies, and allows my son the freedom to choose the songs he likes to play. She even encouraged him to write a song of his own!

She has a successful method of earning rewards, assigning piano exercises on an iPad app, and making it fun to play piano, not a chore.

My son sits down at the piano any chance he gets and just plays. He plays fast, and strong, and he truly enjoys himself.

His most recent success is learning to play Bruno Mars, When I Was Your Man. Mikey plays it so beautifully, he brings people to tears. Elena has a wonderful way of bringing out the talent in her students.

Thank you, Elena!!

Elena is great with our four-year old daughter.  Elena finds fun ways to keep her engaged during the classes.  Our daughter loves Elena and she looks forward to her next piano lesson with Elena during the week.  Elena also organizes events where all her students get together and perform.  We got to listen to our daughter introduce herself and play in front of about 100 people couple weeks ago, which was marvelous.

Elena is a fun, engaging, terrific piano teacher.  She has the rare ability and enthusiasm for teaching piano skills and theory to children and has excellent communications skills and keeps students interested and on track by offering a variety of skill-builders and achievement treats.

My son loves his lesson time, enjoys practicing and has improved immensely over the past three years.  His piano accomplishments have enabled him to take up learning guitar.  He’s way ahead of other students who do not have a strong music theory background, thanks to Elena’s multi-faceted approach to teaching and learning.

I would highly recommend Elena for kids and adults, beginners and advanced players.

Hi Elena,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your dedication in the last 5 years. Tery is very lucky to have you as his teacher.  We have seen his skill improve steadily and quickly under your guidance.  We also enjoyed very much the piano picnics and piano recitals.  They were always fun and well prepared.  You will be missed.
